Hello! (: Just informing all of you that when the elections were postponed two weeks ago, Mr. Eng wanted to treat us as an apology! It's not only that because when we were notified of the postponement of the elections, we had already ordered the food. So we weren't sure as to whether the order can be cancelled, and when we expressed this concern to Mr. Eng, he offered to compensate us for the food!

Yesterday, he insisted on contributing fifty dollars to the dinner. And it was constant insistence, meaning that I kept refusing and he kept insisting. Haha. When I remarked that we had already collected the funds from the club for the food, he said that he would still pay because our training fees are already very expensive. Eventually, he found out that we didn't order any food yesterday, so he said that he "owes" us a treat.

Alright. I don't know about you guys but I was extremely touched by his concern and kindness. Haha! We do have wonderful teachers for our club! Haha. So maybe you can drop him a note of "thank you" whenever you walk past him or something? Lol. And as for the by-elections, we will be able to have some food then (:

On a side note, Sam was unable to make it for the Aikido Elections as she was ill. I can testify to her illness as she has been sick for quite some time now. I apologize for her absence at the elections. In addition, I am terribly sorry for the lack of efficiency in which I managed the elections. The task of ordering food could have been transferred over if I had been more efficient. Sorry. I promise that there will be some food at the by-elections! (:

Alright. So here are the results for the elections! This will be up on the Aikido blog as well! Today, three of our members are not here, meaning that 16 members will present. With the addition of Mr. Lim & Mr. Eng, there are 18 voters altogether. However, the candidates are not allowed to vote for themselves! So there are varying number of votes for each post.

Alright. With the agreement of the club, for now, the new exco will consist of two vice-presidents, one secretary and one student instructor. There will be no president until the by-election. The tie between the two vice-presidents will be settled then as well.

INFORMATION REGARDING THE BY-ELECTION

• All the three previous candidates will be running for the elections.
  
• However, new additions are allowed. If you decide to run for the president post as well, please fill in the application form and send it to Mr. Lim, Mr. Eng & the old exco members by next Friday, 16th of May.
  
• Right now, the tentative date for the by-election is on the last Friday of the term, the 23rd of May.

Please check your schedules on the 23rd of May to ensure that you will be able to make it for the elections! If you aren't, please inform Kaisheng or Jade. In addition, it is council investiture that day, hence, we may be able to start training earlier. Do tell us of the times which you are free! The entire club is required to come down for this by-election.
